Wild Lettuce: this member of the sunflower family was at one time a substitute for opium. Wild lettuce is not as calming as opium, but it still has a significant sedative and pain relieving affect, without the negative side effects of true opiates.

California poppy: is a well known remedy for joint degeneration, and has relaxing, pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties as well.

Passionflower: this plant has been used for more than 200 years as a sedative, sleep-aid, and calming remedy, traditionally by peoples in Central America, Mexico and the Southwestern United States. It is generally used to treat anxiety, insomnia, hysteria and seizures. It is believed to work by increasing GABA (gamma amino butyric acids) chemicals in the brain, which lowers the activity of some brain cells, allowing one to feel more relaxed. Passionflower is an antispasmodic, reducing nerve pain, anxiety and agitation.

Skullcap: is traditionally used to ease and remedy nervousness, nervous tension and exhaustion. Generally it is a comforting and relaxing herb, especially during or after times of distress..

Cleavers: are known for gently clearing stagnant lymph, as well as for their nourishing nature. This plant has an affinity for the kidneys, lymphatic system & muscles, & has the ability to remedy swollen glands, kidney/urinary gravel, mild inflammation, fibrous tissue of the breasts & atrophic tissue & muscles.

Coconut: is highly nutritious and has a large variety of health benefits. It contains high levels of lauric acid which, when converted to monolaurin by our bodies, quite literally disintegrates and kills viruses. Coconut meat is currently being studied as a preventative for neurological diseases, and has already proven to protect against heart disease and stroke. It is believed that a diet high in coconut is the reason that native peoples of Papua New Guinea and New Zealand have never had an incident of stroke or heart disease.

Chickweed: is highly anti-inflammatory and speeds up the healing of external skin flare-ups such as rash. This herb is superb at healing skin irritation associated with dryness and itching, and is soothing and cooling to minor burns. Internally it is a nutritious food, as well as beneficial to the urinary tract, bladder and kidneys. When used as a fresh herb tincture (as it is here), it can help dissolve ovarian cysts, cool hot bladders, remove bacteria and strengthen bladder walls (Susun Weed).

Blue vervain: helps to support the nervous system by remedying sleeplessness, chronic anxiety, stress and rebalancing levels. This herb has also been useful as a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory herb to treat arthritis, to reduce menstrual cramps... and more!

White Willow: it is from this tree that aspirin was synthetically produced in 1899, yet natural willow has long been used to relieve head and joint pain, as well as reduce fevers. It is a general analgesic, anti-inflammatory and fever reducer.

Nutmeg: this fruit eases rheumatism, arthritis, and neuralgia, supports the nervous system to overcome fatigue, soothes the stomach, relieves gas, increases circulation benefiting the joints and muscles, reduces insomnia, and is anti-bacterial. Nutmeg fruits were also stuffed into Egyptian mummies, and sometimes carried around as good luck charms
