Respite Tea is an herbal tea blend for the end of a stressful or overworked day, to ease tension, stress, pain, and digestive upset. The botanicals used are calming to the mind and body.  

Suggested use: add hot water to 1-2 teaspoons of tea, per tea mug. Steep to taste.

Skullcap: is traditionally used to ease and remedy nervousness, nervous tension and exhaustion. Generally it is a comforting and relaxing herb, especially during or after times of distress.

Lavender flower: these flowers are antiseptic, antibacterial, stress and headache reducing, and the essential oil is used in aromatherapy to treat cases of trauma and depression, as well as on the skin to heal burns and cuts. It is generally calming, relaxing and promotes sleep.

Spearmint: has been used as far back as 10,000 plus years for digestive support, according to archaeological evidence. It helps move gas through the body before cramping or bloating can occur while also stimulating bile flow to promote efficient digestion and bowel movements. Those with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), diarrhea or constipation can find great relieve with regular use of peppermint or spearmint teas. The menthol in mint is soothing and calming to the body, helping to limit the potentially harmful effects of stress hormones. 

Linden: is a tasty flower used to relieve digestion issues including heartburn, is anti-anxiety, and promotional a good night’s sleep. It has also been found to be beneficial in psychic work. Studies done on this herb found that it reduces pain, acts as a relaxing nervine without affecting motor function, and it inhibits proliferation of lymphoma cell lines. Generally it is relaxing, cooling and moistening, soothing the stomach and urinary tract. 

Oatstraw & milky oat tops: this herb is high in calcium and has been used to help heal osteoporosis, to mend bones, and to improve memory. The term "sowing your oats" refers to this plant's use in improving one's libido. Oats are also great for damaged skin, and overtaxed nerves.

Lemon balm: Melissa is beneficial in calming nerve tissue, is a mild antidepressant, carminative, sedative, and is used to treat colds, migraines, eczema, and insomnia. A clinical study focused on dementia showed that the essential oil reduced patient agitation by 35%. It has also found to be helpful in reducing bad dreams or night terrors. Melissa has been cultivated for thousands of years and was a favorite herb of the Islamic alchemists, and the well known Muslim herbalist Avicenna used lemon balm to treat heart problems. Lemon balm is medically approved in supporting calm and healthy sleep, supporting the gastrointestinal tract, and has been shown to increase memory and cognitive function. 

Hibiscus: is a tart, refreshing and relaxing flower when used in teas. It is also very high in antioxidants.
