Sage & Pine Deodorant paste, with a hint of cedarwood and lavender, is created from a combination of anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, cooling and drying botanicals, as well as a touch of baking soda and bentonite clay for added anti-perspirant support.

Several steps are taken to make this deodorant so effective: sage leaf is infused into carrier oils for several moon cycles to create a potent, base ingredient for this recipe; neem and coconut oils are utilized for their strong antibacterial and anti-fungal properties; essential oils known for their antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-fungal and clean, fresh scents are incorporated; baking soda is added to deodorize and absorb moisture while bentonite clay binds to toxins and further helps to absorb moisture. 

Suggested use: use clean fingertips to apply to the underarm area. Use once per day or as needed.

Cedarwood: is beneficial to the body and mind by helping to promote relaxation and is often used in massage oils. It is also quite clarifying to the skin, healing to acne and psoriasis, and is used in facial toners and moisturizers for this property. Is is good for respiration, breaks up phlegm, eliminates cough, and is beneficial to those with symptoms of asthma. Cedarwood is anti-fungal, antiseptic and is also known to help relieve stress when used in aroma therapy. 

Sage: is primarily used to treat skin infection or general skin disorders such as dermatitis and psoriasis. It is also known to prevent signs of aging including wrinkles and sagging skin, and is used to protect from cracking, scarring and age spots. Additionally it is used as a hair conditioner which treats both dandruff and oily hair, and is antibacterial and anti-fungal. This common herb is well known as a strong germ and flu fighter, an aromatic antidepressant, and is said to increase one's artistic abilities by stimulating the throat Chakra. Contraindications: common sage is a nervous stimulant so those with epilepsy, hysteria or a history of these should avoid using sage or anything with sage oil in it. It also contains camphor and camphene and therefore should be avoided during pregnancy.

Pine: is beneficial to the skin and helps to treat acne, psoriasis, and eczema, is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial, is mood elevating, and good for treating joint pain and other injury, as well as beneficial for respiration. 

Lavender: is antiseptic, antibacterial, stress and headache reducing, and the essential oil is used in aromatherapy to treat cases of trauma and depression, as well as on the skin to heal burns and cuts. It is generally calming and relaxing, and can also help promote sleep.

Baking soda: is naturally sourced sodium bicarbonate and contains no added aluminum. It is a pH stabilizer and natural deodorizer.

Bentonite clay: comes from volcanic ash, sourced in the United States. It is used to help bind toxins, making them more soluble, as well as to treat mineral deficiencies. Bentonite is considered the most effective healing clay one can find.

Kokum: this butter is derived from the Garcinia tree - it has traditionally been used in India to soften and heal skin that is dry, cracked, rough or calloused. 

Shea: has long been traditionally used in Africa to protect and heal damaged skin. It is high in vitamins A and E, and is known for having a low-level of UV protection (approximately SPF 6).

Neem: is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and is great for acne prone skin. It is also anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving). 

Coconut: this oil is unrefined so to not limit its fatty acid, nutritional and healing values. It's healing properties when taken internally are many, as are the healing properties when used externally. The oil used as food or on the skin reduces signs of premature aging due to its antioxidant properties. It also treats many skin issues including eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rash and other skin irritations or infections. Coconut oil is also anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. 

Olive: is a cold-pressed oil that, like sunflower oil, is high in oleic acid. This constituent is protective against and healing of inflammatory and autoimmune disease, cancers, infection, and healing of a variety of inflammatory skin issues.

Cascadia beeswax: from local Pacific Northwest bees is pure, filtered and moisturizing for all skin types, including those with skin sensitivities.
