  • Old Man’s Beard lichen, a native to moist woodlands, is a fantastic medicine in its ability to aide our bodies in defending against infection and illness. It is especially potent in inhibiting and clearing gram-positive bacterial infection such as strep and staph. 

Suggested use: add 10-30 drops in water or tea 2-3 times per day or as needed. We recommend that this is taken with other warming foods/herbs such as ginger or cinnamon. 

Overall Energetics: cool, drying

Parts of the Whole: organic grape alcohol (95%), Usnea spp. (wildcrafted old man's beard)


Western Bleeding Heart is a Pacific Northwest Native within the poppy family, Papaveraceae. It was traditionally used to relieve pain, having the ability to address various types of nerve-based pain and nerve-based anxiety. Michael Moore described this plant as a remedy for people with weakness or fatigue related to pain with the ability to address deep nerve discomfort. Bleeding heart is also useful in helping to repair an emotionally wounded or broken heart. Contraindications: may cause false positives within administered drug tests for opiates. 

Suggested use: approximately 15 drops, up to 3 times daily.

Overall energetics/actions: analgesic, cooling, bitter, relaxing nervine

Parts of the Whole: organic grape alcohol (65%), Dicentra formosa (fresh, wildcrafted bleeding heart root and flower)


  • Rhodiola: this adaptogenic root can help improve energy levels, and strengthen and support the nervous system, fight stress and depression, improve memory and focus, and strengthen immunity. It is also anti-depressent, anti-viral, and stimulating nervine. Rhodiola can be used to protect one against altitude sickness and jet-lag symptoms.   

Suggested use: 2-4 droppers full, 3 times per day, or as needed. Because rhodiola can have a stimulating effect, it is best taken earlier in the day as to not disrupt sleep patterns. 

Overall energetic/actions: adaptogenic, astringent, dry, protective

Calamus: increases functions of perception, acts as a carminative while reducing stomach acidity, is a general gastrointestinal tonic, and helps to relieve both bodily and cognitive constipation. Calamus is also said to open the spirit gate, and to be a useful plant teacher. Additionally, it is anti-gas, anti-microbial, anti-nausea, antihistamine, and is an effective remedy in cases of cough or sore throat. In Ayurveda, calamus is referred to as "vacha" which means "to speak more clearly."


Burdock: has been used for thousands of years as a blood purifier and remedy for a variety of liver, skin and hair issues. It is cooling and soothing to the mucus membranes, mildly diuretic, lymphatic, and works to heal and improve circulation to the skin. It is detoxifying to the liver, is blood pressure balancing, immune boosting, an antioxidant, a digestive aid, is hormone balancing, and balancing of insulin and glucose in the body (anti-diabetic). Burdock root is beneficial to the uterus and joints. It is also a blood purifier, is restorative to the gallbladder and liver, is considered to be anti-tumor, anti-fungal and antibiotic, helps with painful symptoms of arthritis and other inflammatory diseases.


Mugwort: this herb is well suited for artistic people with heightened senses that might lack grounding. It can help those too emerged in the imagination to carry their artistic gifts from the mind to physical actuality, thus becoming more well-rounded in their creative abilities (Mathew Wood). Mugwort both promotes vivid dream states of the mind, and aids in bringing these dream states into being. 


Cleavers: are known for gently clearing stagnant lymph, as well as for their nourishing nature. This plant has an affinity for the kidneys, lymphatic system & muscles, & has the ability to remedy swollen glands, kidney/urinary gravel, mild inflammation, fibrous tissue of the breasts & atrophic tissue & muscles.


Nettle: is rich in minerals and nutrients, making it a highly nourishing plant tonic. It has an affinity for the kidneys and adrenals with a subtle diuretic action. Regular or tonic use can help build and fortify the blood, bones, and muscles. It is good for the skin & helps to regulate blood sugar and adrenal function.

Pine pollen: is adaptogenic, and can greatly benefit the endocrine and immune systems. It is known to help with arthritic pain, for being anti-inflammatory, and for balancing hormone ratios overall while raising testosterone blood levels - increasing fertility, growth hormone release and sex drive in both men and woman. Pine pollen is also considered to be anti-tumor and liver regenerative.
